Columbus, OH (PRWEB) February 3, 2010
TechColumbus will host the 2009 Innovation Awards at the Greater Columbus Convention Center Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 from 5:30-10 p.m. Live tweeting during the entire event, conducting pre- and post-show interviews of the finalists, taking photos of the finalists and winners, as well as updating the TechColumbus Facebook page, will set this year’s Innovation Award apart from previous years.
The prestigious evening showcases the region’s excellence in leadership and technology. Attendees will celebrate, network with and honor individuals and companies who continue to accelerate Columbus' growth in the future of technology innovation. Out of hundreds of entries, 13 outstanding individuals, companies and technology teams who have made strides in technology innovation in 2009 will be honored.
“We are extremely excited for the Innovation Awards this year, especially because we are implementing the interactive, live social media streaming throughout the night,” Tim Haynes, VP of member services and marketing, said. “We are expecting approximately 1,100 attendees for the night, but this is an excellent opportunity for us to share the finalists’ success throughout the night with those who can’t be in attendance. Plus, there will be behind-the-scenes updates and a few surprises to keep those who are at the event, as well as those following virtually, engaged throughout the program.”
Andrea Cambern, a Columbus TV personality from 10TV, will be hosting the awards. Cambern, @Andrea10TV, is an active Tweeter and will participate in the live updates during the event, too. In addition, the “Tweet Pit” will be stationed in the orchestra pit in the Convention Center and will be sending live updates throughout the night from @TechColumbus with the hashtag #IA09.
As soon as the Innovation Award winners walk off stage after receiving their award, interviews will be conducted backstage. The Tweet Pit will share their live reactions on TechColumbus’s Twitter and Facebook page with photos and videos.
Live! Technologies is the stage production company handling the camera, audio and stage work for the Innovation Awards. They are working in collaboration with Trace Limited, an event planning company preparing and organizing the scripting for the event. In addition, Webbed Marketing will be handling all the live social media, live interviews and live community interaction for the event.
