At home shoppers and decorators will now have a choice and capacity to shop on-line for environmentally friendly furniture.

Goodwin and Co. has launched its new on-line store which specializes in chairs covered in eco-friendly materials and constructed partially from re-claimed wood. Formerly, the Tennessee based company specialized in furniture for the health care industry, but its resident designer/owner, Gary Goodwin, realized that a sideline product offered significant growth potential for internet sales of "green" furniture.

When he discovered Nassimi upholstery material, he realized that because more and more people want to reduce their carbon footprint, this product offered a means to "green" the company in a small but meaningful way. This material enables his company to stand out from the competition.

The versatile little chair known since Victgorian times as the "slipper" chair where ladies perched while "slipping" on their shoes has become more and more popular and is available from a variety of big stores on line. However, ships directly from its Tennessee factory where they are hand made by local craftsmen who have been employed in furniture making for many years. The company has resisted opportunities to manufacture abroad and insists on keeping its products American made.

"We are very pleased to be able to offer home shoppers and decorators an affordable choice, and we have the capacity to ship door to door in as little as a week," says Goodwin. "Satisfaction and quality are always guaranteed.."
