Hershey®’s Milk & Milkshakes were officially unveiled at a press event today at Daytona International Speedway and named the “Official Flavored Milk and Milkshakes of Speedweeks 2010.” Hershey’s Milk & Milkshakes are a new line of single-serve milk and milkshakes that are produced by HP Hood LLC under license from The Hershey Company.

“We are pleased to have Hershey’s Milk & Milkshakes as the presenting sponsor and the Official Flavored Milk and Milkshakes of Speedweeks 2010,” said Robin Braig, Daytona International Speedway President. “We’re excited to partner with Hershey and HP Hood and are pleased that they have chosen Daytona as the starting line to launch their new, delicious milk and milkshake products to NASCAR race fans.”

Hershey’s Milk & Milkshakes appeared nationally at retailers in January 2010 and are available in 12 oz. plastic, single-serve bottles in a variety of flavors including Hershey’s Lowfat Chocolate Milk, Hershey’s Creamy Chocolate Milkshake and a Hershey’s Cookies n’ Cream Milkshake. As a presenting sponsor of Speedweeks 2010, Hershey’s Milk & Milkshakes will be hosting official Hershey’s Milk & Milkshakes Refueling Stations throughout the events. These refueling stations will be located in the media center throughout Speedweeks 2010 and in the FanZone area.

“Hershey’s Milk & Milkshakes is proud to be the sponsor and Official Flavored Milk and Milkshakes of Speedweeks 2010 at Daytona International Speedway,” said Scott Blake, Sr. Vice President of Operations for HP Hood LLC. “We are excited to share with DIS’s NASCAR’s fan base the opportunity to enjoy the delicious taste of new Hershey’s Milk & Milkshakes.”

During the press event, a Hershey’s Milk & Milkshakes-branded racing simulator was displayed as a racing duel was issued. In order to celebrate the launch of these new products, Braig was challenged by Blake to race against Trevor Bayne, driver for Michael Waltrip Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, in a time challenge on the simulator. `

All of the Speedweeks races at DIS – beginning with the Rolex 24 At Daytona on Jan. 28-31 and culminating with the Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 14 – are now being billed as “Hershey’s Milk & Milkshakes Speedweeks At Daytona.”
