While many football fans are deprogramming from immersion in yesterday’s 2010 Super Bowl, Roger and Jeff Staubach are just getting warmed up. Today, Jones Lang LaSalle launched a weekly blog called “Countdown to the Super Bowl: The Economic and Social Impacts for North Texas.” The year-long blog will run up to the eve of Super Bowl XLV and focus on both the football dynamics and the anticipated business and economic impacts, including commercial real estate, leading up to the 2011 Super Bowl, which will be held at the Dallas Cowboys’ new stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Jones Lang LaSalle Americas Executive Chairman Roger Staubach will share his unique insights as an NFL Hall of Fame quarterback and four-time participant in The Big Game. Roger’s blog contributions will include behind-the-scenes intelligence on what it took to win the 2011 Super Bowl contract—he chaired the North Texas bid committee—as well as reports on special events and fundraising progress, even some flashbacks of his four Super Bowls and other football legends such as his original “Hail Mary” pass.

Roger’s son, Jones Lang LaSalle Senior Vice President Jeff Staubach, will analyze the anticipated business and economic impacts of Super Bowl XLV on North Texas. Jeff will be blogging regularly on everything from real estate perspectives and labor and employment trends to retail sales and airport logistics.

Other regular contributors to the blog will include Dallas’ Research Manager Steve Triolet and Fort Worth Market Director Todd Burnette.

The 2011 Super Bowl blog is one of several Jones Lang LaSalle Social Media initiatives. The firm has embraced social media as part of its global marketing strategy, authoring a variety of blogs and becoming active on Twitter and YouTube. Most recently, the firm’s Global CEO, Colin Dyer, blogged from World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, representing the real estate industry as the Chair of the Governors Meeting for Real Estate.
