Area executives encouraged to tap into resources, top up their China skills

The deep structure of the world - geopolitics, finance, economics and business – increasingly depends on “the G-2”: the USA and China. Because virtually every company is affected in some way by the relationship between the two giants, executives need to get a firm grasp on the big picture, and a solid understanding of how to navigate with China-related business in their own field.

For business people interested in knowing what really works in doing business with China, and what resources are available to help, The China Business Network has organized a full day of training and networking called China Business Boot Camp, at the Union League Thursday February 18. Full program and reservations at http://www.chinabusinessbootcamp.com.

The World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia (WTCGP) is the leading international trade services organization helping companies in the region succeed in global markets,” says Linda Mysliwy Conlin, President. “China Business Boot Camp Philadelphia complements the one-on-one trade counseling and educational programs the WTCGP provides to give member and other companies the tools they need to tap into and expand in key markets such as China.”

The morning program features three internationally known practitioners of China business delivering a high-level orientation and a lunch keynote. Greater Philadelphia-based China business people share their insights and advice over the course of implementation panels in the afternoon.

According to Janet Carmosky, CEO of The China Business Network and 25-year China business veteran, “If the question is, ‘What do I do about China?’, the answer is ‘Bring your ‘A’ Game’ – the best mindset, map, and team you can find. China Business Boot Camp is our outreach so that anyone who wants to succeed knows how to proceed.”

Philadelphia is the second city to host a China Business Boot Camp, following Cleveland in November 2009. Major supporters of the event are Continental Airlines, White and Williams and Morison Cogen.

Tickets for the day include lunch and afternoon networking. $450 for the full day, $350 for afternoon only. Discounts are available for groups of three or more, or through any panelist or moderator. Full details and registration at: http://www.chinabusinessbootcamp.com.
