Classes for distance learners start in three new undergraduate and graduate programs

Anna Maria College, an institution known for combining the liberal arts tradition with professional preparation, is pleased to announce the launch of three new professional degree programs online as an alternative to its established campus-based offerings.

Starting in 2010, distance learners can pursue the following degrees:

An online Master of Public Administration will be added in March, and more degree programs are planned.

Anna Maria College is well-known in the New England area for its career-focused undergraduate and graduate programs in several areas related to the growing field of public service, such as criminal justice and public safety. These new online fire science degrees provide potential career advancement opportunities for firefighters and other public safety professionals. The emergency management degree is intended to help people in the public sector prepare and minimize the impact of natural and manmade disasters.

By bringing these programs online, Anna Maria is now able to reach students around the country who are interested in broadening their professional knowledge and increasing their professional value. Besides offering wider access to Anna Maria’s programs and faculty expertise, the online programs are designed to offer adult students the flexibility and convenience of working toward a degree on their own schedules. Additional online programs will be initiated later in 2010; financial aid is available to those who qualify.

“Online degree programs are a valuable option for busy, working students,” said Jack P. Calareso, PhD., President of AMC. “We are excited to have the opportunity to reach new audiences interested in studying at Anna Maria College and look forward to providing our distance learners with the same high-quality, individualized education enjoyed by students on our Paxton campus.”
