Promotional Screenprint and Digital is a digital and screen printing company producing custom POP graphics – often times on strict and tight deadlines. PSP also provides sheet-fed offset printing, tear pads, brochures, and easels for a company’s promotional needs at its Decatur, GA facility. PSP had unsuccessfully tried two different industry-specific applications to run their financials and manage operations, but each time PSP found itself modifying its process to fit the applications.

TwinEngines started by helping PSP create a strategic technology roadmap with the goal to first streamline operations and synchronize information flow throughout the organization. So TwinEngines customized their manufacturing visibility toolkit to integrate with PSP's existing QuickBooks system for financial and inventory management, and with Microsoft SharePoint for document management.

PSP uses the production scheduling application in the portal to manage the large number of highly specific jobs, each with uniquely configured graphics that must be approved by the customer. The scheduling department sees new jobs, jobs in progress, and jobs that are about to run and on what machine. Department managers track and respond to all customer communications in real-time for every job. “Now our biggest problem is that we don’t know what to do in our production scheduling meeting anymore. The scheduling application has virtually eliminated the need for the meeting,” says Robbie McDaniel, President, Promotional Screenprint and Digital, Inc.

PSP's portal increases visibility and collaboration across the enterprise, increasing efficiency and reducing production scheduling time. It also leverages existing investments in information technology by extending QuickBooks and Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services with custom integration. Future phases will focus on fulfillment management, including estimating front end processing costs and integration with UPS, FedEx and other third party services in the manufacturing value chain.
