Leviathan Security Group, Inc. has appointed Patrick Stach, a prominent cryptographer and cyber security professional, to chief scientist and regional manager for operations in the Southeast United States and Asia.
In this newly-created position, Stach will report directly to Chad Thunberg, Leviathan Security Group Chief Operations officer and to Frank Heidt, the company’s Chief Executive Officer.
Stach’s appointment further enhances Leviathan’s capability to remain ahead of advancements in threat techniques, technologies and procedures and provide its customers with innovative, cutting-edge solutions to an increasingly complex and rapidly growing cyber threat environment. He will also serve as the company’s primary interface with customers in the Southeast United States and Asia, two key areas for potential growth, and will provide a full spectrum of support for customers in those regions.
“I would put Patrick up against just about anyone in the country—he’s that good. He has a broad skill set that includes detecting hardware security deficiencies, programmatic modeling, numbers theory and intrusion detection system evasion,” Heidt said. “While companies across the country have been downsizing and cutting costs, Leviathan continues to grow and continues to scout the nation’s top talent so that our customers can stay steps ahead of the cyber threat, which is continually growing and rapidly evolving.”
Stach has more than 15 years experience in programming, cyber security and software exploitation and more than 10 years experience in cryptography mathematics. Stach has co-founded two cyber security companies—TruState International, Inc. and Stach & Liu LLC—and has been a software developer, network security engineer and consultant for a variety of companies. Among his many accomplishments, Stach has developed an industry-leading vulnerability assessment scanner; a cutting-edge, two-factor authentication token; and a universal serial bus controller with smart card capabilities.
