Waldorf School of Cape Cod Announces Spring Parent-Child Classes in Cotuit

The Waldorf School of Cape Cod in Cotuit recently announced that registration for spring Parent-Child classes has begun. The weekly program serves parents with children ages 18 months to 6 years in two age groups and offers a glimpse of Waldorf early childhood education while providing parents with an opportunity to meet and support one another.

The Waldorf School of Cape Cod, recently relocated to 140 Old Oyster Road, Cotuit, MA, is now accepting registrations for its popular parent-child classes.

The classes are similar to playgroups. An adult and child attend the class together one morning a week from 9-11am and two age groups are served: 18 months to 3.5 years and 3 to 6 years. Class size is limited to 8 children to ensure a quality experience for all.

While children play with each other and have access to open-ended toys that foster imagination, parents are safely nearby participating in seasonal craft projects or engaging in topic-based discussion about issues of interest to parents raising children.

The class as a whole partakes in circle activities (such as songs, rhymes, and finger plays), listens to a story (often told using table puppets), prepares and shares a snack, and spends some time playing outdoors.

Classes are held in a warm and inviting space in the school's new home in Cotuit, formerly the Cotuit Elementary School. The school is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and draws parent-child participants from Wellfleet to Rhode Island!

Prospective parent-child participants--as well as families interested in looking at the school for their older children--are invited to attend the school's upcoming Open House on Sunday, March 7, from 1-4pm, to meet teachers and explore the Grades and Early Childhood classrooms.

Further information about the school as well as parent-child registration forms are available by calling the school's Enrollment Director, Stephanie Markwell, at 508-420-1005 or by visiting the school's comprehensive website at http://www.waldorfschoolofcapecod.org.
