On February 23, 400 high-level association executives will attend the Salute to Association Excellence to honor their peers, discuss the year past, and look forward to the year ahead. The event will provide those present with great opportunities to network, and will honor Military Officers Association of America President VADM Norbert R. Ryan, Jr., USN-Ret. as Association Executive of the Year.
Ryan is the 32nd association chief staff executive to be honored. Also to be recognized at the Salute are: P. Allen Haney, Association Vendor of the Year, president of JZA Inc.; the winners of the TRENDS 2009 All-Media Contest; meetings executive August H. “Gus” Duda, who will receive a rare TRENDS Founders Award; and the Angerosa Award winners.
Another category of honorees are the 2009 Young & Aspiring Association Professionals: Eloiza Altoro-Acevedo, CAE, Executive Director, Society for Clinical Data Management - Executive Director Inc., Milwaukee; Amy L. Brown, Executive Director, American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists, Centreville VA; Gregory Fine, CAE, Marketing and Communications VP, Association for Corporate Growth, Chicago; Michael R. Fraser, CEO, Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs, Washington; Kate Hawker, CAE, Planning & Information Sr. Director, Society for Neuroscience, Washington; Amy Lestition, CAE, Executive Director, Association Media & Publishing, McLean VA; Greg Melia, CAE, Member Relations & Credentialing VP, ASAE & The Center for Association Leadership, Washington.
This year, the Salute provides an opportunity to fete the honorees, visit the All-Media Contest Winners Gallery, and network with leaders in the association community. The Salute is hosted by Association TRENDS, the national publication for association executives and suppliers for the latest news, information and trends in association management for the professional staff of international, national, state, regional and local voluntary organizations.
The event will be held at the Capital Hilton in Washington DC, Tuesday, February 23, 2010, from 11:00am-2:00pm. Join us as we relax, look back, and honor outstanding members of the association community.
