Tailored Technologies, a full-service management consulting and technology firm headquartered in New York City, is celebrating its 25th anniversary by giving back to the community.
Starting this month, Tailored Technologies will be providing pro-bono services to Charity Navigator, the nation's largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities, as it enhances its online functionality and transitions into a 3-dimensional rating system, which it hopes to unveil in Spring 2011.
As part of the transition into a new rating systems, Tailored Technologies will be working with the New Jersey-based 501(c)3 to strengthen its IT systems and enhance its security measures. By performing an unbiased technology assessment, Tailored Technologies will provide a third-party perspective on Charity Navigator’s current operating systems and identify opportunities to enhance the functionality by improving the user experience.
“I’m excited to assist Charity Navigator with enhancing what is already an indispensable resource for donors,” said Richard Nathan, president of Tailored Technologies. “By evaluating their current and future needs, we will be able to develop an implementation action plan which allows them to grow without the pain normally associated with upgrading systems.”
“We are grateful for the opportunity to tap into the expertise and talent of Tailored Technologies,” said Ken Berger, president & CEO of Charity Navigator. “By strengthening our IT capabilities, this collaboration will enhance our ability to help donors make informed giving decisions, ensuring that non-profits receive the funding they need to survive these difficult economic times.”
Since 2002, Charity Navigator has provided an unbiased, objective, numbers-based rating system that allows users to assess the financial health of over 5,000 of America's best-known charities. It is embarking upon a project to enhance its rating system to evaluate nonprofits based on their financial health, ethics and governance, and, its outcomes (i.e. does it show evidence of effectiveness in services.)
