Third Phoenix-area location to open at 20th Street and Camelback.

Smashburger, a fast-casual “better burger” restaurant, open its third Phoenix-area location Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 1949 E. Camelback Road in the Camelback Colonnade shopping center in Phoenix.

Smashburger’s menu features a special Arizona Smashburger made with Arizona residents in mind. The Arizona Smashburger starts with a one-third or half-pound 100-percent certified Angus beef burger topped with habanero cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, onion, chipotle mayo and fresh jalapenos on a chipotle bun.

The menu also features the Arizona Devil Dog, the Arizona Cobb Salad—made with diced chicken breast, bacon, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, red onions, crisp romaine and iceberg lettuce, with spicy chipotle sauce and topped with guacamole and fresh jalapenos—and a Cactus Vanilla Shake made with Häagen-Dazs ice cream.

Named for the cooking method used to create the perfect burger, Smashburgers are either a one-third or half-pound ball of 100-percent fresh—not frozen—certified Angus beef smashed on a flat grill to sear in superior juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, Smashburgers are served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of real cheeses, the freshest produce, and distinctive toppings including haystack onions, guacamole or even a fried egg.

Smashburger is known for its savory burgers, but the restaurant also serves up delicious Smashchicken sandwiches, Smashdogs, and Smashsalads, with sides like veggie frites and rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries. Burger lovers can pair their meals with Häagen-Dazs shakes, root beer floats, beer and wine.

“The response to the first two Phoenix-area locations has been impressive,” says Smashburger Founder, Tom Ryan. “We look forward to continuing to create raving Smasburger fans across Phoenix.”

“The Valley is filled with burger lovers and we are pleased to serve them as we continue our expansion in the Phoenix market,” says Kurt Riske, Brand Manager for SunWest Burgers. “We look forward to becoming Phoenix’s favorite burger place.”

The other Phoenix-area Smashburgers are located at 777 S College Avenue in Tempe and 9915 W McDowell Road in Avondale.
