We love when couples include their pets in their proposals and wedding ceremonies!
New York City, NY (PRWEB) February 17, 2010
Weddings and proposals are just going to the dogs. Pet-loving couples are increasingly including family members of the four-legged and furry variety into their nuptials, no matter how formal the occasion. Pets add a much more intimate, thoughtful approach to any declaration of love and as members of the family, it makes the occasion much more special to have them involved. In fact, in a 2009 poll conducted by PawNation.com, an AOL Inc. pet blog, 54% of the responders reported that they wanted or did have their pets involved in their wedding ceremonies.
Even ‘American Idol’ winner Carrie Underwood is digging the trend. In a recent interview with camera-maker Kodak, Underwood declared that she’d love to have her pup involved in her upcoming nuptials to professional hockey player Mike Fisher.
“I plan for my dog to be in my wedding. I plan for him to be the little ring-bearer – having him walk down the aisle all dressed up in a tuxedo,” said Underwood on the red carpet of the People’s Choice Awards. “That will be a Kodak moment.”
While the trend seems to be showing most in wedding ceremonies, that doesn’t mean that getting pets involved can’t happen as early as the proposal.
Just recently, TheNewYorkDogShop.com had an interesting proposal pop up at its West 73rd Street location in New York City involving a special pooch, a short deadline, and an embroidered jacket.
The story goes like this: a customer called and asked the retailer if TheNewYorkDogShop.com could embroider “Will you marry me?” on one of its personalized dog jackets, as he was gearing up to ask his girlfriend for her hand with the help of her furry friend.
There were only two problems – it normally takes at least one week for any custom embroidery and the characters were limited to just eight. The caller only had four days and his proposal measured thirteen characters. Luckily, TheNewYorkDogShop.com was able to work with its embroiderer/vendor, A Pet’s World, and the coat was rushed over to the shop in just two days with the message complete. The rest, as they say, is happily ever after.
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, TheNewYorkDogShop.com expects for even more couples to involve pets in the proposal, as they make the moment even more memorable. Plus, with a wedding in the works, you can feel free to dress up your pup in any of the special order tuxedos (made for every size dog!), bowties, or wedding dresses from TheNewYorkDogShop.com!
