"As we began discussions regarding our charitable initiatives for this year, it quickly became evident that giving back on a community level was a high priority," said Chris Haerich, Vice President of Compliance and head of Protocol's philanthropic efforts. "Voices from every corner of the company agreed, we wanted our efforts to produce fruit at a local level, where it would mean the most to our employees and their neighbors."
In Protocol's 6 North American locations, a total of over 2,200 employees will participate in organized quarterly projects. The first quarter kicked off January 1 with a massive clothing drive. New and gently-used clothing donated by employees, as well as their families and friends, will be distributed to several charities serving the less fortunate. Q2 will offer employees the opportunity to join with Habitat for Humanity in helping to build simple, decent, affordable housing for those in need. Lending a hand at many of the overwhelmed and understaffed community homeless shelters will be the focus of Q3. The year ends with a holiday food and toy drive to benefit the Toys for Tots and Adopt an Angel programs.
