LocaModa's Miracle Mile Foursquare Application on Clear Channel Outdoor's Spectacolor Unit

LocaModa today announced partners committing to its Foursquare application, specifically designed for the digital out of home industry.

With Foursquare, the popular location-based social network, users can “check-in” to their favorite locations and announce their whereabouts to their network of friends. Users earn points and badges for checking-in and vie to become the “Mayor” of popular venues.

Companies already committing to run LocaModa’s Foursquare application on their network include IndoorDIRECT (with over 1,000 quick serve restaurant locations including Wendy’s and Carl’s Jr.) and Clear Channel Outdoor. Clear Channel Outdoor’s Spectacolor unit will launch the application on its landmark 126-foot LED video screen at the entrance to Las Vegas’ Miracle Mile Shops, becoming the first digital billboard of this magnitude to use a Foursquare application.

LocaModa’s CEO Stephen Randall said, “There is an enticing and growing demand to take location-based services that are otherwise only visible on mobile phones or online, and make it easy for venues and users to interact with the messages at the location.”

Tristan Walker, Director of Business Development at Foursquare, agrees, “By giving Foursquare a visual and interactive presence in venues, LocaModa is enhancing the user experience and making it easy for venues to offer specials and rewards to their most loyal customers.”

Foursquare has recently garnered major media attention and stirred up interest among enterprising venue owners who are offering rewards such as free drinks or discounts to users.
