By engaging Vegas Strip shoppers who are already tweeting and checking-in via Foursquare, we create additional value on our digital billboards for both advertisers and venues.

With Foursquare, the popular location-based social network, users can “check-in” to their favorite locations and announce their whereabouts to their network of friends. Users earn points and badges for checking-in and vie to become the “Mayor” of popular venues.
Companies already committing to run LocaModa’s Foursquare application on their network include IndoorDIRECT (with over 1,000 quick serve restaurant locations including Wendy’s and Carl’s Jr.) and Clear Channel Outdoor. Clear Channel Outdoor’s Spectacolor unit will launch the application on its landmark 126-foot LED video screen at the entrance to Las Vegas’ Miracle Mile Shops, becoming the first digital billboard of this magnitude to use a Foursquare application.
LocaModa’s CEO Stephen Randall said, “There is an enticing and growing demand to take location-based services that are otherwise only visible on mobile phones or online, and make it easy for venues and users to interact with the messages at the location.”
Tristan Walker, Director of Business Development at Foursquare, agrees, “By giving Foursquare a visual and interactive presence in venues, LocaModa is enhancing the user experience and making it easy for venues to offer specials and rewards to their most loyal customers.”
Harry Coghlan, President of Clear Channel Spectacolor, commented on the launch: “By engaging Vegas Strip shoppers who are already tweeting and checking-in via Foursquare, we create additional value on our digital billboards for both advertisers and venues.”
Through their partners, LocaModa reaches the digital screens of over 15,000 venues with an audience of over 100 million every month across the US. Foursquare has recently garnered major media attention and stirred up interest among enterprising venue owners who are offering rewards such as free drinks or discounts to users.
Interested venues or digital out of home networks can find Foursquare and a host of other place-based media applications in LocaModa’s App Store.
LocaModa will be demonstrating its platform and applications at this year’s Digital Signage Expo, held at the Las Vegas Convention Center on February 24-25, 2010. LocaModa CEO Stephen Randall will be presenting at Sessions 28 and 40, entitled 'Integrating Multi-Channel Strategies: A Roadmap for Digital Cross-Platform Success.'
LocaModa turns screens that people normally ignore into screens they can't resist. By connecting digital networks with social media and mobile messaging, we enable over 100 million people in thousands of venues, high-traffic public spaces, at events and on websites to interact with their environments - and brands - in ways never before possible. Our cross-channel platform combines the reach of television with the interactivity and measurability of the Web. LocaModa is a privately held company headquartered in Cambridge, MA.
