On Saturday, February 20, 2010 the Orlando Public Library will present Linda Everett Moye, managing editor and publisher of the book, Delta Girls - Stories of Sisterhood. The public is invited to meet Moye in the Albertson Room, at 2:00 p.m., where she will discuss this book along with others she's written. Delta Girls is an anthology of short stories and poems about sisterhood written by Moye and twenty-eight members of her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
In addition to a discussion about the Delta Girls book, Linda Everett Moye, a novelist and award-winning poet, will discuss her books of poetry, which include, Where Spirits Dance, The Courage To Say It, and From A Delta's Heart. Last year, she published her first novel, The Pledge-Life Is Eternal and So Is Love, a soul mate love story. She is one of twenty-two contributing poets in the book, Violets, and has a recipe published in the cookbook, Occasions to Savor. She will read excerpts from her books and have copies available for purchase.
Moye lived in San Antonio, Texas twenty years before moving to Orlando eighteen months ago. A small press publisher and public speaker, she was inducted into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her writing accomplishments. A graduate of St. Mary's University School of Law and Virginia State University, she is a member of the Orange County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Orlando Renaissance Writers Guild, Inc., and the Writer's League of Texas.
