Olympic hopefuls in Freestyle Moguls, Freestyle Skiing, Snowboard Halfpipe, Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom and Boardercross competitions. Enjoy the beauty of Cyrpess Mountian and await their turn at Olympic fame from Normerica’s massive 48,000 square foot Timber Frame structure.

“We have designed and built large commercial structures, clubhouses and resorts all over the world for more than 30 years,” says President, David McFarlane. “This is what we do and we do it well.”

Normerica Authentic Timber Frame designed and built the massive structure which will be home to the Freestyle Moguls, Freestyle Skiing, Snowboard Halfpipe, Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom and Boardercross competitions during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This Ontario company will be proudly watching the Olympic Events in B.C. this week with more than a passing interest.

“We have designed and built large commercial structures, clubhouses and resorts all over the world for more than 30 years,” says President David McFarlane. “This is what we do and we do it well.” Taking on such an enormous task within a very tight time frame would be a huge undertaking for most companies but it’s all in a days work for the all-Canadian owned Normerica.

This is the first large permanent structure of its type within Cypress Provincial Park. An incredible 48,000 square foot massive timber frame building is designed to reflect the beautiful Cypress Mountain terrain. Cypress Creek Day Lodge boats Normerica’s environmentally sensitive, highly efficient, insulated wall and roof systems. The design features six large gables to provide an enormous expanse of windows. http://cypressmountain.com/cypress-creek-lodge.

The Cypress Creek Day Lodge will provide skiers with a 600 seat cafeteria, the Crazy Raven Bar & Grill, a 208 seat pub, two semi-private meeting rooms seating 10-to-12 people each and a third floor mezzanine level suitable for private functions. The lower level includes the sales and information office, rentals, snow school, retail and public washrooms.
