Swisslog today announced that it has launched new preventive maintenance programs aimed at helping hospitals achieve long-term optimal performance of any pneumatic tube system.

Swisslog, a leading provider of automated materials transport and pharmacy automation solutions for hospitals, today announced that it has launched new preventive maintenance programs (also known as service & support agreements) aimed at helping hospitals achieve long-term optimal performance of any pneumatic tube system.

Designed to keep pneumatic tube systems operating at peak efficiency, Swisslog’s new preventive maintenance programs will help healthcare facilities consistently deliver quality patient care. Pneumatic tube systems, like other mechanical systems, require regular inspection, maintenance, and quality parts to minimize downtime and extend the life of the system.

Unique to Swisslog’s preventive maintenance programs is that they are available for any manufacturer’s hospital pneumatic tube systems, not just those made by Swisslog. As the world leader in providing pneumatic tube systems to healthcare facilities, Swisslog has the expertise and geographically dispersed technical support organization to provide comprehensive service and support anywhere in North America.

Swisslog offers three preventive maintenance programs: Platinum, Gold and Silver. As the names imply, these programs offer cascading levels of service, support and benefits. The Silver program includes one preventive maintenance visit annually and is designed to supplement a hospital’s internal technical staff. The Gold program includes two preventive maintenance visits annually, thereby providing an increased level of support. The Platinum program includes four preventive maintenance visits annually, resulting in an all-inclusive level of support that helps ensure maximum uptime of a hospital’s critical tube system.

In addition to the standard preventive maintenance visits associated with each program, other benefits can include discounted parts and software upgrades, on-demand service calls, a priority technical support phone number, on-site training, and a system uptime analysis.

Swisslog also offers customized preventive maintenance programs that can be tailored to the specific and unique needs of any healthcare facility.

“For more than 80 years, we have placed the highest priority on customer service and support,” said Bob Rasmussen, executive vice president of Swisslog Healthcare Solutions. “By launching these new preventive maintenance programs in which we’ll service not only our pneumatic tube systems, but also those of other manufacturers, we hope to aid many healthcare facilities by ensuring their critical tube systems perform flawlessly year after year.”
