Perpetuum Software unveils final release of Silverlight Viewer for Reporting Services 2008, a Silverlight component designed to view Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services reports in Silverlight applications, export them to PDF, Excel, HTML, XML and print them out directly from Silverlight.
After two months of Beta testing the product is finally polished, stable, and compatible with .Net Framework 4.0 and Visual Studio 2010 Beta. Yakov Zhdanov, Project Manager says: “This is only a start of a great, interesting and in-demand project. New product features are in the way; they are Drilldown, support for VS 2010 when finally available, usability improvements and new samples. The work on this functionality has already been started.”
This version of Silverlight Viewer for Reporting Services includes significant usability improvements. Convenient error and troubleshooting handling makes the use of the product easier and more comfortable. Now you can record all the exceptions to the log file for further examination and looking for a solution. Two modes of error visualization make it possible to get precise description of exceptions. To make the UI more user-friendly there were added improved search abilities and loading progress indication.
Silverlight Viewer can be used in applications, located directly on the html pages, and in the out-of-browser mode.
Delicate setup of viewer appearance with the use of styles and templates allows the seamless inclusion of the component into design of any application. All aspects of the Silverlight Viewer component behavior can be controlled from the code.
The user will view only necessary report pages without loading the whole report. This feature provides high speed of work and saves Internet traffic. If the used fonts are not set on the client’s side they will be loaded automatically.
Designed reports can easily navigated, searched, scrolled, sorted, zoomed, exported to PDF, Excel, HTML, XML and printed directly from Silverlight. Thus, all manipulations users got used to in desktop applications are now available in a Web application.
Silverlight Viewer for Reporting Services 2008 is available twice cheaper till the end of February 2010.
