The San Diego based Social Media awards organization, #influenceSD, is accepting nominations for their first annual celebration of new media champions. San Diego based businesses, bloggers, and brands participating in social media will get recognized locally at an awards ceremony celebrating champions of new & real-time media.
To nominate a candidate for an award, people can visit http://influenceSD.com and submit their nominations in any of the 12 categories spanning for-profit and non-profit entities. The nomination period will close on March 24th, 2010. Once nominated, local community members can vote their favorite candidates up the list. The top 5 nominees in each category will be announced on March 24th and will advance to the final judging round. The winners will be announced at the event, which will be complete with entertainment and presentations from leaders in the media community.
"We have an exciting opportunity to bring together influential members of our San Diego community and reward the ones that are spreading their message in innovative ways," says Matt Browne one of the co-founders of #influenceSD.
#influenceSD will be held at Anthology in Little Italy on April 7th and will be hosted by Chris Cantore. Tickets will go on sale March 1st for nominees, and March 8th for the general public.
