"The compound annual growth rate in Asia is growing by a breathtaking 33.5%," comments CEO Tyson Greer.

The global market for eLearning reached US$27.1 billion in 2009 according to a new report by Ambient Insight called, "The Worldwide Market for Self-paced eLearning Products and Services: 2009-2014 Forecast and Analysis." The demand is growing by a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.8% and revenues will reach $49.6 billion by 2014.

"The compound annual growth rate in Asia is growing by a breathtaking 33.5%," comments CEO Tyson Greer. "The eLearning revenue opportunities in specific countries in the region are attracting suppliers and investors from all over the world. The demand in Eastern Europe is growing by 23.0% and vibrant outsourcing hubs serving the export market have emerged in that region."

This report forecasts the expenditures for five types of online training products and services across seven regions: North America, Latin America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia, Middle East, and Africa. Expenditures are often heavily concentrated in specific countries and this report ranks those countries for suppliers.

"North America will be the top distance learning buyers throughout the 2009-2014 forecast period. In the 2009 market, Western Europe accounted for the second highest expenditures," reports Chief Research Officer, Sam S. Adkins. "By 2014, Asia will overtake Western Europe and account for the second highest global expenditures."

For each region, revenues are forecast for five types of products and services: Packaged content, custom content services, platform and tool hosting services, authoring software tools, and installed platforms.

"The aggregation of demand across all regions shows that the demand is positive for each online training product type. However, this aggregate pattern can be misleading and the demand can be strikingly different in each region," adds Adkins. "This report provides a product analysis for each region."
