We also share our hopes and dream for those who have touched our lives in one fashion or another. Always expressing our sincere gratitude for those who have gone on—while—yet still cherishing their memories. Watching and praying for those who are still here—examining them while they grow in the knowledge and in grace

Partly a tribute to the poet-author’s late wife, partly an honor to survivors, and wholly an expression of hope, life, and faith, this Poetic Gesture is a heartening anthology of poems by poet-author Elton Hill. Words of inspiration and encouragement, Hill’s poems are glimpses and scenes of lives lived, treasured memories, and cherished moments.
Poetry that comes from the heart, that’s the Poetic Gesture the Hill’s family offers for both young and old readers. The verses and stanzas are true, personal, close to the heart, and heartwarming. It speaks of survival—a hope for those who are fighting to survive in their own physical and emotional battles; of starting anew—a new day after the setting of the sun and a new life after the closing of one; and of special people—friends to confide, comfort, and keep one strong. It talks of the power of prayer—to help a person hold on, of the beauty and miracle of love, and of wonderful dedications—to beloved people. It also features poems for heroes who are honored on Memorial Day and for the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attack. Included, too, are poetry on death—being ready to go, saying goodbye, missing those who are gone, moving on, and what awaits in heaven.
“We also share our hopes and dream for those who have touched our lives in one fashion or another. Always expressing our sincere gratitude for those who have gone on—while—yet still cherishing their memories. Watching and praying for those who are still here—examining them while they grow in the knowledge and in grace,” expresses the poet-author.
Poetic Gesture is a poem collection that speaks from the heart to the heart. It’s a collaborated effort of the Hill family as they express their joys of life, through the good times and even through the bad times. For more information on this book, log on to Xlibris.com.
About the Author
Elton Hill is the son of the late Homer Hill and Lue Ella Hill. He is the ninth of eleven children and was born in the small rural town of Arkabutla, MS. As a child growing up, he found that there weren’t many activities to do. So for entertainment, he, along with the neighboring kids, spent lots of time learning nursery rhymes. Then, as a tenth grader, his teacher gave him an assignment to write poems. He enjoyed that. After entering college, he wrote for the college newspaper. This is where his love for writing flourished. Mr. Hill is a widower and a father of two daughters, Phylicia Hill and Angelica Phillips, and three sons, Lachristopher Lewis, Kiltaurean and Howard Edwards Jr. He resides in Tunica, MS.
