Die casting experts at MRT Castings are experiencing growing demand for their single-source die casting solution.
MRT manages the whole die casting process – saving buyers the headache of dealing with numerous suppliers.
This enables buyers to deal with a single supplier with years of expertise in the die casting industry.
MRT Castings Managing Director Phil Rawnson said: “This concept goes down really well with buyers in hi-tech companies who need shorter lead times and confidence in quality.”
Many die casting foundries offer their services only for high volume orders, claiming that lengthy set-ups make the process prohibitive.
But MRT Castings is happy to deal in high, medium and small volumes.
Die casting experts at MRT have decades of experience trading as a foundry in the UK. They are principally engaged in aluminium and zinc component manufacture using gravity and high pressure die casting methods.
Mr Rawnson said: “We have invested heavily so we have the latest technology and some of the most advanced machinery available in the industry.”
MRT offers a complete package, leaving buyers free to concentrate on their application of the components.
MRT Castings provides a one-stop die casting shop offering the following services:
- Design advice
- Sand casting
- Gravity die casting
- pressure die casting
- CNC Machining
- Surface finishing
- Electro-mechanical assembly.
Gravity die casting is well suited to small and medium volume requirements and structural components. MRT has a range of microprocessor-controlled hydraulic gravity die casting machines which mechanise movements of the die – increasing production rates and improving consistency.
For higher volume requirements, or components requiring thin wall sections or excellent as-cast surface finish, high pressure die casting production is fast and inexpensive compared with other casting processes. MRT’s high pressure die casting machines have locking forces of between 220 and 530 tonnes.
MRT help buyers to optimise designs – eliminating elements which add unnecessary costs to die casting, providing the benefits of automated production die casting without high-cost tooling.
MRT has been designing, manufacturing and running die casting tooling for more than 60 years.
The company has immense experience in optimising component and tool designs and enjoys working closely with customers on new product development and toolmaking.
By getting involved at an early stage of product conception, MRT can often make suggestions which lead to significant savings in tooling and component costs.
MRT‘s experts also specialise in CNC machining castings and understand the casting process so they know the important inspection aspects of working on cast components.
To complement the extensive services of MRT’s foundry and machining divisions, MRT supplies a wide range of metal surface finishing processes.
