On March 13, 1997, something strange happened in the skies over Phoenix, Arizona. On that clear evening, a one-mile-wide, V-shaped formation of glowing amber globes silently glided through the heavens. The unidentifed flying objects grabbed the attention of at least 10,000 people across the state of Arizona. Among them was Lynne D. Kitei, a physician and health educator who had also worked for various NBC television affiliates as a health reporter. Watching the phenomena from her own home – which offers a panoramic view of the city and the skies over Phoenix – the doctor and former reporter moved from skeptic to convinced believer as she observed and photographed the UFOs.

"The Phoenix Lights" --- perhaps the most extensive and dramatic multiple sightings of UFOs of all time. No one who reads her updated book can remain a skeptic about the UFO phenomenon." -Dr. Brian O'Leary, astronaut

The new edition of The Phoenix Lights offers new information that includes Former Governor Fife Symington, who originally mocked the sighting, admits 10 years later that he observed something out of this world; Astronaut and moon walker, Dr. Edgar Mitchell, confirms that these mysterious phenomena are real; commercial pilots say they witnessed the Phoenix Lights over Las Vegas; a military pilot comes forward to share his close Phoenix Lights encounter; 911 Phoenix police operator, who was on duty during the mass sighting, tells all; authenticated evidence of "missing time" revealed for the first time; and more.

Kitei just had to get the word out. She brought together her documentation – along with a wide-ranging overview of the history of UFOs – in the 2004 edition of this book. Now her new, expanded and updated edition of The Phoenix Lights: A Skeptic’s Discovery that We Are Not Alone (Hampton Roads, March 2010) provides startling new testimony about the event.

Kitei also documents the experience of “missing time,” which she and many others have undergone in the face of observing UFOs, and she writes about the failed attempt of our military to reproduce the phenomena that were seen in Phoenix. And that’s not all. She also presents information about similar phenomena observed elsewhere and brings together quotes from distinguished experts about the existence of these otherworldly “unknowns.”

Whether you open this book as a skeptic or a believer, by the time you turn the last page, you’re bound to be convinced that we are not alone.

PRAISE FOR THE BOOK
"Dr. Lynne Kitei has done more than anyone to research the Phoenix Lights sightings and to keep them where they belong--under the media spotlight and in the public eye." -Nick Pope, former minister of defense, UK

"Dr. Lynne Kitei has done a superb job in presenting what is called "The Phoenix Lights" --- perhaps the most extensive and dramatic multiple sightings of UFOs of all time. No one who reads her updated book can remain a skeptic about the UFO phenomenon." -Dr. Brian O'Leary, astronaut

"I’ve been impressed with Dr. Lynne's courage and her open and honest pursuit of the truth surrounding what she witnessed herself that night in Phoenix. She is a highly credible and professional person with so much to lose by addressing the subject of UFO's. But she is standing fast in her description of events and knows what she did not see." -Colin Andrews, crop circle expert, UK

"Let the data speak. The fact is, this a true story--one that becomes more baffling and challenging the more we learn. It is too important to be ignored or trivialized. Dr. Kitei is giving voice to the data--hopefully many of us will listen and ponder." -Gary E. Schwartz, Ph.D., professor of psychology, surgery, medicine, neurology, and psychiatry and director, Laboratory for Advances in Consciousness and Health, University of Arizona

"Perhaps the most important result of the Phoenix sightings is that they turned Dr. Kitei on to do the things (book, documentary, public appearances, etc.) that she never would have done had they not happened. Her efforts have been very important in bringing this "message" to the public." -Bruce Maccabee, Ph.D., Navy Optical Physicist and leading Ufologist
