I am very excited to have the opportunity to emphasize the advantages of Centice’s unique technology in these two different applications.
Morrisville, NC (PRWEB) February 25, 2010
Centice Corporation, the pioneer in drug verification and safety, announced today plans to speak and present on two different technical topics at this year’s PittCon Conference and Exposition.
Centice’s Chief Technology Officer, Prasant Potuluri has been invited to speak at Session 1900 (March 3, 2010), “Miniature Spectrometers Come of Age.” Dr. Potuluri’s presentation is entitled “Rapid Prescription Verification System with Raman Spectroscopy and Machine Vision,” and will highlight the company’s PASS Rx® system.
The PASS Rx® system is the first and only product that utilizes patented spectroscopy and machine vision sensor technologies to confirm the accuracy of a retail pharmacy’s dispensed solid dose medications in a matter of seconds, improving quality and optimizing workflow in retail pharmacy. Dr. Potuluri’s discussion will focus on the constraints of balancing the needs for speed and accuracy with the constraints of size and cost.
In addition, Centice will present a poster on the recent results of a Phase II Small Business Innovative Research grant funded by the National Institutes of Health (Grant Number R44GM075441) to develop a small, point-of-care diagnostic reader for surface enhanced Raman nanotags. The poster will be presented at Session 2840 (March 4, 2010) and is entitled, “Coded Aperture Spectrometer for Raman Imaging of Lateral Flow Immuno Assays,” This poster will highlight the spatial-spectral imaging advantages for analyzing inhomogeneous targets with Centice’s patented coded aperture.
The power of coded aperture spectroscopy together with surface enhanced Raman scattering nanoparticle tags demonstrate the next generation for point of care molecular diagnostics. This poster will outline the development of a device to detect various cardiac biomarkers used in the diagnosis of myocardial infarctions (heart attacks).
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to emphasize the advantages of Centice’s unique technology in these two different applications” says Dr. Potuluri, “I think that the technical audience will appreciate the significant benefits that the coded aperture brings to spectroscopy.”
