Legendary Media Group Inc. ("LMG"; http://www.legendarymediagroup.com) has officially announced their roster's newest talent, Los Angeles hip-hop artist, B-Shel (http://www.myspace.com/theartistbshel). The addition of B-Shel to the recently launched, Los Angeles-based label - which is backed by Bungalo Records / Universal Music Group and Asian market distribution channels - brings the label's artist count to four, encompassing rock, hip-hop, pop and R&B genres.
B-Shel, born Brandon Shelby, hails from West Covina, CA. The 26-year-old Puerto Rican/African-American stunner is no stranger to the spotlight, with a Hollywood-esque career that started when he was just seven years old.
As a child, Brandon's looks launched him on a modeling career that would lead to his being recognized by elite modeling agency, Ford Models. In 1997, Brandon won a model-of-the-year award, through Ford - at the time, he was only thirteen. The same year, Brandon's new love started to shine through - he began to write music.
The model-of-the-year win landed Brandon scholarships and a modeling opportunity with fashion designer Karl Kani, dubbed "The Godfather of Urban Fashion". Brandon also appeared in print ad campaigns for footwear giant, SKECHERS. With the success of his modeling career under his belt, Brandon went on to explore acting and landed several commercials.
As his career and focus shifted to the music industry, Brandon spent the next several years of his life almost entirely devoted to the art. After completing high school and three years of college, Brandon decided to pursue his musical ambition in full. His love for hip-hop and R&B, landed him a job with High Desert Broadcasting, where he was a DJ for two FM stations, KMIX 106.3 and News Talk 1440.
Word about Brandon had started to spread in the music industry, at which point he was given the stage name of "B-Shel". With this new persona, came another successful venutre for the young artist - he secured opening gigs for such names Ashanti, Destiny's Child, Jon B., and Jaheim, just to name a few. B-Shel's artistry in his genre has also been recognized by rap industry veteran, Wendy Day.
B-Shel has won over fans and experienced industry insiders with his polish and professionalism, which has opend up opportunities for him to perform at gospel events with artists such as Tonex, Zie'l, Angie Stone, 2Face, Nick Cannon and Marvin Sapp.
"B-Shel is sort of the antithesis of from-the-streets-to-stardom - he's always been on top, and he plans to stay that way," says Simon Yi, Legendary Media Group CEO. "His dedication to everything that he does comes through in each of his projects, be it modeling or music - at both of which he equally excels."
B-Shel's new hit single, "Girl You Da Bomb", is set for a March 23, 2010 release date. The song's accompanying video shoot is scheduled for March 7, at the V Lounge in Santa Monica.

B-Shel also recently released a compilation CD titled "The Future Volume 1". The CD was released independently by Marble Ice Entertainment, and included B-Shel's "Girl You Da Bomb". Also on the compilation are tracks by such artists as Ralph Tresvant, Mint Condition, and a host of other talents. B-Shel is also featured on a recently released compilation project shared with Flo Rida, Kanye West, Ray J, and Young Life.
