Fred Beecher, user experience expert at Evantage Consulting, will co-present a workshop during the Interactive portion of the South by Southwest Conference (SXSW) on Saturday, March 13.

Beecher and three other top user experience designers will present “The Right Way to Wireframe,” results from a design experiment in which these experts tackled the same business problem using the same set of business requirements and user goals but using their own methodologies and tools. Each designer chose a different tool for creating wireframes and specifications, worked with a graphic designer and came up with a different end result.

“I used the Axure Rapid Prototyping tool, but each tool offers advantages depending on what you need to communicate,” explains Beecher. “The thought process you use to solve a design problem is more important than the tool you choose.”

Beecher and his colleagues will help put an end to the debates over wireframes vs. prototypes and one tool vs. another. They’ll show how creating and testing multiple iterations ultimately results in more effective communication of complex data, something that’s central to Evantage Consulting’s user experience practice.
