For years, ICAP Ocean Tomo events have sought to share cutting edge best practices regarding patent sale and monetization
Chicago, IL (Vocus) February 25, 2010
ICAP Ocean Tomo, the intellectual property brokerage division of ICAP Plc (IAP.L), today announced one of four program tracks for the upcoming IP Think Tank event on March 24-25, 2010, in San Francisco, California. All tracks focus on next generation intellectual property (IP) development.
“For years, ICAP Ocean Tomo events have sought to share cutting edge best practices regarding patent sale and monetization,” states Dean Becker of ICAP Ocean Tomo. “We are now building upon our experience to explore enterprise value created from the broader category of intangible assets including brands and corporate reputation”.
The announced track will follow ICAP Ocean Tomo’s well-received IP Think Tank conference model. Beginning with panelist presentations focused on creating shareholder value from the management of Intellectual Capital, leading experts will describe risk management strategies which can protect or enhance reputation value. The program continues with a collaborative working group discussion focused on real world challenges shown through a corporate case study. On day 2 of the conference, the track moderator will report the results of the working group benefiting all event participants.
The Growing Intangible Asset Marketplace track is presented by the Intangible Asset Finance Society (IAFS), and moderated by Nir Kossovsky, Executive Secretary, IAFS, and Chief Executive of Steel City Re, LLC, a Pittsburgh-based risk and reputation management firm that helps companies to increase or recover the value of their intangible assets. As moderator of the program track, Dr. Kossovsky will seek a voice for divergent opinions and work to document areas of consensus.
According to Dr. Kossovsky, “With new US SEC regulations taking effect on February 28, 2010, reputation and intangible asset management will gain even greater attention in corporate boardrooms across the country.” In his new book, Mission: Intangible – Managing Risk and Reputation to Create Enterprise Value, Dr. Kossovsky demonstrates the urgency of increasing, protecting, and restoring intangible asset value, managing the business processes that create value, and building enterprise resilience. Mission: Intangible, published by the IAFS in cooperation with Trafford Publishing, will be available March, 2010.
Other IP Think Tank program track topics include: Investment in IP – Why Investors Find IP Attractive; Developing a National Intellectual Property Economic Infrastructure; and IP Nation – Economic Development through IP.
