Little Singers of Paris to perform in Shanghai

The Shanghai Concert Hall will present a performance from a leading French boys choir.

Shanghai is set to host a musical performance by Les Petits Chanteurs a la Croix de Bois next month.

Also known as the Little Singers of Paris, this 24-member choir is made up of French schoolboys aged between nine and 14 years old.

The choir was founded in 1906 and has grown into one of the world's most celebrated children's vocal groups, with many top concert venues competing for their performances.

Beginning at 19:30 local time, the recital will showcase their angelic voices with a varied programme of a cappella pieces.

The choir will be performing music by Mozart, Schubert and Rossini, as well as more contemporary material such as La Vie en Rose, the signature song of French icon Edith Piaf.

Tickets for the concert range in price from 80 yuan (£7.60) to 580 yuan and are available now.

Situated in the Huangpu district, the Shanghai Concert Hall was built in 1930 and features classical architecture in a European style.

The venue was recently renovated and can now accommodate just over 1,200 people.
