While Sidibe’s fail-safe plan is to take her mother as her plus-one, perhaps the former *NSYNC star will surprise his adoring fan. 65% of Predicto members believe it’s a possibility.

After the Golden Globes, the SAG Awards and the BAFTAs, one might think that the American public would be tired of award shows. Not so for Snackable Media’s Predicto Mobile community, who are eagerly text messaging votes about potential drama off-stage and on. Several of Predicto’s top polls are centered on the Academy Awards’ red carpet style, celebrity attendees and awards show surprises.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are no strangers to Oscar acclaim, having garnered one statuette and several nominations between them. They’ve also grown accustomed to unwanted attention, in the form of paparazzi speculation about their relationship. This year, with Pitt starring in the Oscar-nominated “Inglourious Basterds,” it makes sense that the pair would attend the ceremony to support the film and prove to the world that they remain a shiny, happy super-couple. In spite of the most recent wave of pessimistic rumors, 76% of Predicto voters think Brangelina will walk the red carpet on March 7th.
Best Actress nominee Gabourey Sidibe hasn’t been shy about whom she’d love to have as her Oscar date. The “Precious” star has publicly requested that her teenage idol Justin Timberlake accompany her to the show. While Sidibe’s fail-safe plan is to take her mother as her plus-one, perhaps the former *NSYNC star will surprise his adoring fan. 65% of Predicto members believe it’s a possibility, and as we all know, anything can happen at the Academy Awards.
In fact, Oscar producer Adam Shankman promises that there will be plenty of surprises during the telecast. Since a segment of the Grammy Awards was shown in 3-D, will the Academy Awards follow suit and use special effects? 62% of Predicto voters think so. After voting, one member made his awards show allegiance public, texting: “The Oscars will have something spectacular and will not be outdone by the Grammys.”
The always spectacular Sandra Bullock could offer a low-key tribute on Oscar night. The star wore an Alexander McQueen gown to the 2010 SAG Awards, and in the wake of the designer’s tragic passing, a majority of Predicto users expect the Best Actress nominee to don another of his dresses in salute.
The addition of a special tribute to the late John Hughes has drawn gasps from the blogosphere, but the Predicto Mobile community has a savvy take on the situation. Deducing that the Academy’s acknowledgement of the iconic 80s director would have to include the actors who rose to fame in his most popular film, 81% predict that the cast of “The Breakfast Club” will reunite to honor Hughes.
