Montad, a full service ad agency located in Metro Detroit has offered its creative and internet marketing service to the Automotive Aftermarket Supplier Association (AASA) to help promote their “Know Your Parts Campaign”. The services MontAd is providing include the creation and online distribution of articles and press releases and the production of a video that uses humor to engage the audience while expressing the importance of using branded parts from full service suppliers. The first article “The Parts in Your Car Make a Difference” http://www.aftermarketsuppliers.org/knowyourparts.php has been distributed by the agency and is already showing on over 2,000 sites indexed by Google. The video will be debuted at the AASA Vision Conference, March 17, 2010 in Chicago. The video was created to be editable and flexible so that it can be customized to include specific member supplier messages. The video will be available to all AASA members and distributed by MontAd over the internet with a focus on targeting Automotive Technicians.
The goal of the campaign, a collaborative effort between the AASA and the AASA Marketing Executives Council (MEC), is to raise awareness over the concern regarding low-cost off shore generic auto parts that are flooding the automotive aftermarket at all levels of the distribution channel. These low quality parts may not meet safety standards and pose a danger to both the automotive technicians and the consumer, which could result in a loss in public confidence in the industry. The AASA and MEC firmly believe that it is not important where a part is made but who stands behind it.
