First Boulder Location to Open on 29th Street Mall

Smashburger, a Denver-based fast-casual "better burger" restaurant, will open its first Boulder location Wednesday March 10, 2010 at 1650 28th Street (on 29th Street Mall).

Smashburger’s menu will feature the specially crafted Colorado menu as well as a Boulder-exclusive Black Bean Smashburger— a flavorful black bean patty smashed, seared and seasoned to perfection, pepper jack cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, onion, chipotle mayo and fresh jalapenos topped with tortilla chips on a chipotle bun.

The Colorado Smashburger starts with a one-third or half-pound ball of 100-percent Certified Angus Beef that is smashed, seared and seasoned on the grill, then topped with grilled fresh green chilies, melted cheddar, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a toasted chipotle bun.

The Colorado Smashdog starts with a 100-percent Angus beef hotdog topped with grilled fresh green chilies, grilled onions, melted cheddar cheese and pepper jack cheese, chipotle sauce and fresh-sliced tomatoes.

In addition to new entrees, the Colorado menu offers Fried Green Chilies; green chilies sliced and flash fried and served with a side of spicy chipotle sauce
Named for the cooking method used to create the perfect burger, Smashburgers are either a one-third or half-pound ball of 100-percent Certified Angus Beef fresh—not frozen—smashed on a flat grill to sear in superior juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, Smashburgers are served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of real cheeses, the freshest produce, and distinctive toppings including haystack onions, guacamole or even a fried egg.

Smashburger is known for its savory burgers, but the restaurant also serves up delicious Smashchicken sandwiches, Smashdogs, and Smashsalads, with sides like veggie frites and rosemary and garlic–seasoned Smashfries. Burger lovers can pair their meals with Häagen-Dazs shakes and root-beer floats.

"As a Denver-based company, we are excited to spread our burger magic across the state and into Boulder," says Smashburger Founder Tom Ryan. “We are proud to introduce our first Smashburger to Boulder and know its residents will appreciate the variety of made-to-order options on Smashburger’s menu.”
