The College of Golf at Keiser University has held two successful Tee It Up open houses for 12 incoming students of its inaugural class on December 10 and 11, 2009.

I am confident they are ready to begin their rigorous training that will prepare them for long, productive careers.

The College of Golf at Keiser University held two more successful Tee It Up events, or open houses, on December 10 and 11, 2009, following the successful November event. For each, the open houses provided a limited time opportunity for 12 incoming College of Golf students to experience what the school has to offer.

The Tee It Up events included activities such as a free golf clinic at the PGA Center for Golf Learning & Performance. This was administered by PGA professionals employed by the golf school. Incoming students also got the chance to see 3D analysis on the TaylorMade MATT system as well as practice full swing and short game techniques. In addition to an on-site visit at the College of Golf, students were treated to a free round of golf at the PGA Golf Club.

Dr. Eric Wilson, VP of the College of Golf, said, “We felt it was very important to give our incoming students an idea what it will be like for them over the next 16 months. This introduction should make them feel right at home and bolster their confidence and incentive to learn, as they could be significant forces to the golf industry in the future.”

Students who have enrolled in the Associate of Science degree in Golf Management were eligible to participate in the open houses. Participation was by reservation only for those that submitted their paid enrollment applications.

In November, participants of the Tee It Up event at the College of Golf worked with Eric Hogge, PGA Certified Head Professional at the PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance. In addition, resident PGA Master Professional, Dr. Eric Wilson, was on hand to provide his personal insight to students on the golf professional jobs.

“It has been an honor to personally introduce these budding professionals to both our dedicated golf school and the industry,” added Wilson. “I am confident they are ready to begin their rigorous training that will prepare them for long, productive careers.”
