Hampton, NJ (PRWEB) March 1, 2010
MDScope has announced the launch of the first portable, digital video otoscope. The MD Scope is a unique otoscope featuring high resolution imaging on a built-in video screen. It will be unveiled at the Pri-Med Southwest 2010 Conference and Exhibition at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. The convention will take place March 4-6, 2010.
A typical otoscope, a diagnostic tool used by health care providers to view the outer and middle ear, features a handle with a head consisting of a light and a low powered magnifying lens. The MD Scope Video Otoscope is the first of its kind as it also features a 2.4 inch digital LCD video screen attached to its handle. It operates with the world’s smallest camera using a 2mm x 2mm image sensing device which provides a high resolution digital image. The image is displayed on the LCD screen and can be captured and saved by using a video out port connected to a monitor or computer
“The most important aspect of the MD Scope is that it can be used by doctors for educational and tracking purposes,” said Joseph Blewitt, inventor of MD Scope. “When a doctor is examining a child, there is now a visual picture for the parent to see as the doctor explains an illness. Also, pictures can be taken before and after an illness for assessment.”
The MD Scope is multi-functional as it is designed to be used with interchangeable scopes such as a dermatoscope or an ophthalmoscope. It is used with normal exam procedures and because it runs on batteries, it is completely portable. MD Scope is FDA registered and has U.S. and worldwide patents pending. It will be available at the Pri-Med Southwest Conference in a kit which includes the MD Scope, carrying case, 2 AA batteries, VGA Video Cable, and 24 disposable speculum covers for a special convention only price
MDScope’s CEO, Joe Blewitt, will be on hand at the Pri-Med Southwest 2010 conference to answer questions and demonstrate the technologically advanced otoscope. For more information or to place an order, visit http://www.mdscope.com or call
