Teletrips, the leading provider of web-based assessment, management, and reporting tools for workforce and workplace sustainability has released the latest version of its Commute Management and Reporting System. The software as a service solution gives customers auditable transparency and control over the financial, environmental and societal (triple bottom line or “3BL”) impacts associated with employees work locations and travel modes. The system also aggregates individual employee impacts to report on the cumulative triple bottom line for the organization and can feed directly into corporate social responsibility reporting efforts. And because the system is based on authoritative industry data sources, such as the World Resources Institute GHG Protocol, Transport Canada and the US Environmental Protection Agency, the 3BL Reports can also be utilized as a key input for regional and global sustainability indices.

Ian Gover, President & CEO of Teletrips says, “Today’s sustainable enterprise is required to balance financial performance with management of their overall environmental footprint and community level impact – something we call the triple bottom line. The Commute Management and Reporting System provides our customers with an objective and auditable snapshot of the previously hidden bi-products of our daily work choices.”

Gover went on to say “A disproportionate amount of market attention has focused on abatement programs associated with energy generation or purchase. While we certainly support all reduction efforts, our solutions are designed to address direct and indirect emissions from a variety of additional sources, including the employee commute, business related travel and underutilized workspaces. In some cases these alternative sources can account for more than 75% of an organization’s total environmental footprint and effective management can have far-reaching impacts for employees, employers and the communities where they conduct business.“
