“Continuing education classes are sometimes dry. We work hard to make our courses different and fun.”
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 3, 2010
The HealthLinkRx Institute (http://www.healthlinkrx.biz/institute/) has announced additional dates for its popular continuing education courses. New sessions of the Institute’s “Yoga: Clinical Applications” course will be offered in San Antonio, TX on March 27-28 and in Houston, TX on April 17-18.
The two-day course teaches certified physical therapists and occupational therapists how to use yoga poses and principles to help patients heal from surgery or injury, improve their body’s flexibility, and relieve stress. The course will explain the research-based benefits of three yoga-based interventions: breath-work, postures (asanas), and relaxation/mediation in relationship to four body systems: cardio-pulmonary, skeletal-muscular, vestibular, and nervous system.
A certificate of completion for 1.6 CEU’s (16 contact hours) will be awarded for attendance of entire workshop. Certified physical therapists and occupational therapists require 30 hours of continuing education credits per year to maintain their certification within the state of Texas.
The HealthLinkRx Institute has been approved by the Texas Occupational Therapy Association (TOTA) and the Texas Physical Therapy Association (TPTA) as a provider of continuing education training.
According to Charlie Quinn, a principal at the HealthLinkRx Institute, course instructors strive to make their classes engaging and interactive. “Continuing education classes are sometimes dry,” Quinn says, “We work hard to make our courses different and fun.”
The San Antonio course will be held from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM at the Hyatt Place Hotel at 4303 Hyatt Place Drive. The Houston course will be held at from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM the 2800 Post Oak Blvd.
