Mesa Rim Climbing and Fitness Center is celebrating over two years of hard work with a Grand Opening like no other in the industry.

Mesa Rim Climbing and Fitness Center, Inc., San Diego’s premier indoor climbing and fitness facility, announced today that they will open their doors for the official grand opening this Spring, Saturday, May 22, 2010.

The much anticipated grand opening of Mesa Rim is expected to amass the whole of San Diego’s climbing community and outdoor enthusiasts alike at this unique one-day event. This grand opening is more than just a new business opening their doors – it is a celebration. The event will be host to an incomparable industry event, combining the opening of the region’s largest indoor climbing center with a retailer trade fair dedicated to outdoor adventurers.

Mesa Rim will open their doors May 22nd from 8am-10pm hosting a day of tantalizing activities, starting with the unveiling of their expansive walls to all attendees with a full day of free climbing. Climbers will have the chance to enjoy the nation’s newest and most choice plastic pulling. The 5.13 Invitational, scheduled for opening day, will give spectators a thrill as the community’s finest climbers compete to conquer one of the most difficult indoor rated routes. Not the most difficult rating, but still a challenging route, even for the gifted climber. The day’s events will also include a free specialty retail expo complete with professional demonstrations and climbing community talks from 8am-4pm. The retail expo will bring together the industries finest vendors and local San Diego retailers to producing the icing on the cake for the day’s festivities.

“This expo is all about our climbers. We are celebrating two plus years of hard work. Bob Kain, the Mesa Rim staff, and I want to make this a spectacular event providing an opportunity for the whole community to come together and celebrate.” -- Michael Rumack, Mesa Rim Climbing and Fitness Center Owner, General Manager.

Mesa Rim is poised to build more than just a business venture. While Mesa Rim is establishing an incomparable climbing facility, they have also been developing programs designed for the youth of San Diego. They have been diligently working with community groups such as the local YMCAs, and charity foundations like Outdoor Outreach. Mesa Rim is striving to educate and encourage the climbing community of tomorrow by sharing the benefits of climbing and fitness, teaching a balance of physical, mental, and spiritual health.

“We want to set the bar higher not just for climbers, but for individuals. We want to be a part of the recipe to develop the next generation of a health conscience community in San Diego.”-- Ranelle Kain, Mesa Rim Climbing and Fitness Center Owner.

The unique grand opening is the start of an amazing business. Mesa Rim plans to expand the community of San Diego climbers and increase the availability of positive youth programs across the county. The 52 ft pinnacles will elevate the climbers experience to new heights, and the 30,000 sq feet of wall space will be a home for all. Everyone attending will be able to celebrate the feeling of success and accomplishment that comes with topping out on our walls, towers, and boulders. Combining studio quality yoga facilities with a comprehensive fitness center will make Mesa Rim the Mecca of all outdoors enthusiasts in training, not just the climbers among us. Southern California’s newest climbing center will start with a brilliant opening and continue to shine from there.
