The Coalition For Change, Inc. (C4C) has launched its new website at http://coalition4change.org/. This new public interest site seeks to hold Federal agencies and managers accountable for perpetrating illegal employment discrimination practices and for failing to resolve employee complaints timely.

On its new website, the C4C displays a “scorecard” at http://coalition4change.org/reports.htm that grades federal agencies’ efforts to resolve “formal complaints” filed by employees. Using data from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission released September 2009 http://www.eeoc.gov/eeoc/newsroom/release/9-17-09a.cfm, the C4C “scorecard” ranks (A thru F) agencies’ fiscal year 2008 alternative dispute resolution (ADR) offer rates to employees. In addition to posting the ADR scorecard, the C4C website provides a “RMO” link. The link unveils responsible management officials, most of whom have been named formally in lawsuits filed in United States District Court. Philip Taylor, C4C’s Media Relations Chair, states, “Each year the Federal government fails to address employment discrimination impedes public service efficiency and effectiveness, but more importantly employment discrimination costs taxpayer’s millions of dollars. Employment discrimination is not only a civil rights issue but also an economic issue.”

C4C members, many harmed by workplace discrimination and retaliation, hope that the website will shed light on the pervasiveness of the problem. “In 2010, discrimination remains a threat to the mental and physical well-being of federal employees entrusted with upholding the public good,” says Tanya Ward Jordan, Founder of the volunteer public interest group. “Complaints filed by secret service agents, U.S. Marshals, FBI agents and other public servants all speak to a toxic culture within the federal government that cripples public programs and services.” Narrative on the newly launched C4C website suggests that the federal government’s failure to hold managers accountable for resolving employee complaints timely and for perpetrating illegal employment discrimination practices is the most disregarded threat to the Nation’s homeland security. http://coalition4change.org/pubinterest.htm
