Smashburger, a fast-casual “better burger” restaurant, is looking for Las Vegas’ best homegrown band to kick off the restaurant’s debut. The competition is looking for bands of all styles to participate. The winner will perform on Saturday, March 20. The first Las Vegas Smashburger is located at 7541 W. Lake Mead, Suite 2.

Here’s how bands can get in the running:
1. Upload a video of you/your band performing (PG, please) to YouTube.
2. Send the link, contact information and any questions to bands (at) smashburger (dot) com no later than Sunday, March 7, 2010.
Finalists will be notified of their inclusion in the competition. The winning band will be chosen by the public through online voting, which runs from Monday, March 8 through Sunday, March 14, 2010. The chosen band will be announced on Monday, March 15, 2010. Bands can visit http://www.smashburger.com/bands to see how their band is faring and should remind their fans to vote.
The winning band will play a one-hour set on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. and then enjoy a Smashburger meal. Local media will be invited to this event and the participating bands’ videos will be posted on the national Smashburger Web site. A large crowd is anticipated for the opening weekend and there is potential for media coverage. Bands are responsible for transporting their own instruments and taking care of any sound equipment needs.
