Newberg, OR (Vocus) March 3, 2010
Starting this summer, George Fox University will offer a Management and Organizational Leadership online degree option as one of its adult degree programs. The application deadline for the online program is Wednesday, March 31.
The summer online cohort combines face-to-face and online courses. It includes three weekend intensives, with the first scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 7-8.
The university’s adult degree programs are designed for adult students who wish to finish their bachelor’s degree in an accelerated format. Most students who enroll complete their degree in 16 months.
Classes are taught in a seminar style and are writing intensive. Class activities include simulations and discussions that draw from students’ personal and professional backgrounds to achieve a broader understanding of the material. Each course builds on the next so students can maximize the impact of the learning.
The university offers five degree-completion programs at the university’s Portland Center near Tigard and at its Boise and Salem centers – in management and organizational leadership (face-to-face or online), management and business information systems, project management, social and behavioral studies, and health administration. Also offered in Salem is an elementary education degree-completion program.
General education/elective courses are available for students who have less than the credits required to apply to one of the five programs. These courses are offered in a weeknight or weekend format.
Classes meet once a week for eight weeks, with two eight-week terms in each 16-week semester. Many of these classes will fill a student’s need for general education or elective credits and are offered all year long. The university encourages prospective students to submit copies of their transcripts for an evaluation. Enrollment counselors are assigned to work with students from the beginning through graduation.
