The American Marketing Association, Chicago Chapter (Chicago AMA) hosts Social Media in Action, Strategies to Give Your Brand a Voice in the Digital Age- the premier Chicago AMA event focused on social media strategy. You’ll learn about the perfect balance of strategy development and participation plus hear real world cases of successful implementation and measurement. The program will feature renowned experts in the discipline of social media strategies including Alecia Dantico, Director of Social Media at Garrett Popcorn, and David Armano, Senior Vice President of the Digital Group at Edelman.
Speaker background information:
Alecia Dantico is the Director of Social Media at Garrett Popcorn Shops. She has extensive experience with cross-platform interactive strategy, digital marketing/communications, and Web development. Her experience includes both B2B/B2C and C2C in start-up, agency, and in-house environments, with a special emphasis on transactional eCommerce applications and word-of-mouth marketing. She has advanced knowledge of online consumer behavior, social networking, and interactive communities. In 2010, she will start her PhD in Communications at the University of Illinois at Chicago, specializing in the creation of brand and identity in the blogorsphere. David Armano is currently a senior vice president in the digital group at Edelman. He is both an active practitioner and thinker in the worlds of digital marketing, interaction design, and the social web. Author of the popular Logic + Emotion blog, he has been invited to speak at events hosted by organizations such as Google, Microsoft, O’Reilly and Ad Age. David is sought after for his perspectives on how social media is affecting the business landscape and has been working in the digital medium since 1997. Most recently David was a part of the founding team of Dachis Group where he did groundbreaking strategic work for clients including Intuit. Prior to Dachis Group, David worked in the digital agency space for over 10 years with organizations such as P&G, HP, WW Grainger, Allstate, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and
Fifth Third Bank. His work on Grainger helped the company earn the reputation of best commerce site according to BtoB magazine and his leadership on HP resulted in a Webaward.
