New Public Spaces Wow Guests at the Courtyard by Marriott Chesapeake, Courtyard by Marriott Norfolk Downtown and Courtyard by Marriott Richmond-Chester

LTD Management Company, L.L.C., a hospitality development and management group headquartered in Chesapeake, unveiled renovations of three Virginia Courtyard hotels in Chesapeake, Norfolk and Richmond today. The $2.5 million public space renovations of the Courtyard by Marriott Chesapeake, Courtyard by Marriott Norfolk Downtown and Courtyard by Marriott Richmond-Chester took 3 months to complete. The architectural design firm Baskervill, of Richmond, VA, created the hotels innovative contemporary interiors. Clancy + Theys of Newport News, VA served as the General Contractor.

“The redesign accommodates a business traveler’s need to stay connected. The renovations incorporate technology throughout the new space with features like private media booths with built-in TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi and the lobby’s interactive GoBoardTM,” said Neel Desai, Managing Partner for LTD Management Company, L.L.C. “We are excited to be a part of the re-birth of a brand and be one of the first Marriott franchisees to introduce the newest lobby concept to our locations.”

The open, bright and contemporary Courtyard hotel lobby welcomes guests with vivid contrasting colors and sleek furniture. The traditional front desk is replaced with separate welcome podiums to create more personal and private interactions when guests check in. A signature element of the new lobby is the exclusive Courtyard GoBoardTM, a 52-inch LCD touch screen packed with local information, maps, weather and news headlines. Wi-Fi is complimentary and there are ample electrical outlets throughout the lobby to power digital devices. The enlarged business library features several computer work stations and capabilities to print boarding passes and to check flight status.

Dining has been completely redesigned with casual, flexible seating at The Bistro – Eat. Drink. Connect.TM, the new "fast casual" dining experience. Providing refreshing choices and plenty of healthy options for breakfast and dinner, The Bistro also offers Starbucks®, wine, beer and an assortment of juices and sodas. The MarketTM, a 24/7 shop for snacks, beverages and sundries, is always open for late-night cravings or to purchase travel essentials.

All three hotels feature redesigned fitness centers to help road warriors stay fit. Each fitness center features a large flat-panel TV to watch news, weather or sports. Guests can also stay entertained while working out with cardio equipment featuring built-in TVs and plug-and-play capability for their iPod or iPhone. Weight equipment is also available for a well-rounded fitness routine.
