Actress and host of The Singing Bee, Melissa Peterman, performs in her first televised stand-up special, Melissa Peterman: Am I The Only One? premiering Friday, March 12 at 10:00 –11:00 p.m., ET/PT, as part of CMT's Big New Comedy Week.
In this one hour special, Peterman shares her take on her day-to-day adventures, including candid encounters with 'uber' moms and traumatizing her sons' birthday party with an Elmo piñata. Taped at the historic Belcourt Theatre and the surrounding neighborhood, Melissa Peterman: Am I The Only One? includes digital shorts as well as tales about her friendship with Reba and audience interaction.
Peterman, the host of CMT’s #1-rated series of 2009, The Singing Bee, has also appeared in television shows including "Surviving Suburbia," "Rita Rocks," "Just Shoot Me,” “Living with Abandon,” and has hosted CMT’s “Comedy Stage” as well as the Hollywood Bowl’s Sound of Music Sing-A-Long. She appeared in the hit Coen brothers’ film, Fargo, as Hooker #2, the Method Man film, How High, and most recently starred in the independent comedy Dirty Politics. Peterman was recently signed to Big Machine Records to release her first comedy album in the spring and is currently on tour with Reba, George Strait and Lee Ann Womack.
