We feel that we have become a genuine, one-stop shop for wireless broadband. In addition to extensive offerings for last-mile access applications, we have carrier-grade product lines in unlicensed and licensed microwave backhaul. Customers can literally build their entire network based on Solectek's integrated wireless products

Solectek today announced that it is adding a 2.5 GHz frequency option to the SkyWay-Mobile series, Solectek's mobile/fixed wireless broadband platform. The 2.5 GHz frequency band is well suited for the U.S. rural connectivity market, supported by various grants and loans provided by the U.S. Federal government through NTIA and RUS broadband stimulus programs. The product is also well positioned for international markets where the 2.5 GHz spectrum is designated for fixed/mobile broadband access.

"There is a focused effort on the part of the US government to provide ubiquitous broadband connectivity to stimulate growth in rural areas. This is evidenced by the on-going broadband stimulus programs BTOP/BIP and the soon-to-be announced National Broadband Plan by the FCC. With this product extension, we are able to address substantially more of the spectrum held by independent carriers in small cities and rural areas," says Dr. Eric Lee, CEO of Solectek.

By adding the 2.5 GHz frequency band, Solectek now provides access solutions for 400 MHz, 700 MHz, 1.8 GHz, 2.1 GHz, 2.5 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 3.65 GHz bands. The platform addresses a wide range of applications from voice/data mobile networks in densely populated areas to long-distance fixed wireless networks in rural areas.

"We feel that we have become a genuine, one-stop shop for wireless broadband. In addition to extensive offerings for last-mile access applications, we have carrier-grade product lines in unlicensed and licensed microwave backhaul. Customers can literally build their entire network based on Solectek's integrated wireless products," adds Dr. Eric Lee.
