According to the Boston Herald and the Huffington Post, the drug Ambien was involved in Tiger Wood's bizarre behavior during the headline grabbing incident outside his home last month. The drug appears to have contributed to him falling asleep in the middle of the street in the midst of a heated argument with his wife, and may also have been involved in rash behavior that lead to the car crash which caused police to be involved in the first place.

According to the stories consumers are sharing on the non-profit web site, AmbienOverdose.org, Tiger is not alone. Since its founding in early 2008, hundreds of people have used the forum to share the experiences they've had with the drug.

While the drug has long been deemed safe by the Food and Drug Administration, the anecdotes related by the site's users often highlight its potency and the need for caution when using the drug.

Many users tout the effectiveness of the drug in enabling them to get a good nights sleep for the first time in years or decades, but other users have experienced troubling side effects.

AmbienOverdoes.org aims to raise awareness about safety issues surrounding the drug to ensure that people will use it only according to the strict guidelines layed out by their doctors. The site started with one person sharing his experiences, but since then, the web master has been deluged by hundreds of posts from people who've used the drug.

The site administrator, Clare Petersen, says that there is no way to independently verify any of the stories that people send him, but thinks its important that people have a forum to discuss this powerful drug.
