The Predicto Mobile community can’t envision Ryan as a judge, with 68% voting that Seacrest will not be sitting next to Randy, Kara and Ellen next season.

If Simon Cowell could honestly critique the ninth season of American Idol so far, no doubt he would use words like "lackluster" and "mediocre." Not even the addition of witty judge Ellen DeGeneres can hide the fact that the current contestants are not of the same caliber as seasons' past. Yet the show still attracts more than 30 million viewers each week, including members of the Predicto Mobile community. Predicto voters know there is still plenty of drama and surprises to be had with the Top 12 being announced on Thursday, and have been eagerly texting their predictions on what will happen next.
Departing judge Simon Cowell has been hyping this season of Idol as one destined to be won by a woman. The reality show responsible for introducing us to Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood has been lately dominated by male singers like David Cook, Kris Allen and Adam Lambert, so it's no wonder that the show might be ready to launch another female contestant into stardom. When Simon speaks, Predicto voters listen: 84% of the mobile community agree with Cowell's prediction.
One of the most popular women in the competition is Crystal Bowersox, who has charmed the judges and audience with her talent and low-key quirkiness. After illness kept her from attending the girls' Top 10 night, she wowed everyone by coming back with a powerful, gospel-tinged performance. Even Simon was impressed, comparing her to Idol's very first champion and all but cementing her frontrunner status. The Predicto Mobile community is equally awed by the single mom, with a whopping 88% predicting she'll breeze her way into the Top 12. One Predicto member texted the following vote of support for Team Bowersox: "She is freaking awesome. I think she is going to at least be top two."
The remaining male contenders on Idol are not nearly as universally lauded as the women. Alex Lambert manages to stand out from the pack, and not just because he shares the same last name as last year's popular runner-up. For someone so unaccustomed to the spotlight, Lambert has shown remarkable growth in his performances. While the mullet-coiffed crooner betrayed his nervousness with shaky vocals and a petrified expression during the first week, his second time singing on the Idol stage was much more assured. Everyone loves an underdog story, including Predicto voters; 76% say Lambert will live up to his namesake and make it to the Top 12.
No one can truly fill Simon Cowell's spot as top judge on the megahit show, but perhaps what's needed is someone who's not prone to crankiness and eye-rolling. While many A-list names have been bandied about as Cowell's replacement, the most interesting suggestion has been Ryan Seacrest. The eternally pleasant host could make a good judge, having been part of Idol since the beginning. However, the Predicto Mobile community can't envision Ryan as a judge, with 68% voting that Seacrest will NOT be sitting next to Randy, Kara and Ellen next season.
