Let's Stay expands its editorial horizons with latest appointment

Bakewell's Roly Smith, aka 'Mr Peak District', has been appointed editor of Let's Stay Peak District, the leading online guide to holiday accommodation and tourist information for the Peak District National Park.

Bringing a wealth of knowledge and a lifetime of experience to the new role, Roly, president of the national Outdoor Writers’ and Photographers’ Guild, has written more than 60 books on walking and the countryside including many about the Peak District itself, its villages and its landscapes.

Roly says he is looking forward to establishing the website - http://www.letsstaypeakdistrict.co.uk - as the premier portal for all things relating to the Peak District with a particular emphasis on holidays and tourism, and hopes to help build on the success already enjoyed by the online holiday specialists based in Great Longstone, Derbyshire.

A former editor of magazines such as 'Peak and Pennine', 'Peakland Walker' and 'Peakland Guardian', Roly is uniquely qualified for the new post which has been created to coincide with the launch of the latest version of the website, first published in 2001, and now one of over 30 'Let's Stay' trademarked sites currently active across the UK.

Included amongst them is Let's Stay UK, a portal for UK holidays and Let's Stay Dog Friendly the website that features hundreds of pet friendly places to stay. Other sites operated by a growing team of franchisees include holiday and tourist information for the Lake District, Cotswolds, Cornwall, Snowdonia, Kent, Dorset, Devon, Lancashire, Chilterns, Castleton, Group accommodation, Yorkshire Dales, Pembrokeshire, Gower, North York Moors and more. The newest recruit is Let's Stay Northumberland due to launch at the end of July 2010.

The websites specialise in the promotion of accommodation in popular areas of the UK and focus on persuading visitors to stay overnight and not just day trip. Let's Stay Peak District site has more than 320 Peak District Cottages to choose from in addition to more than 600 places to stay in total - so there's never a problem in finding somewhere nice and affordable to stay.

"Staying over for a few nights is good for the soul, good for the environment and good for our ailing economy" says Mike Cummins

Founder and owner of the 'Let's Stay' company and brand, Mike, is proud to welcome such a prestigious wordsmith onto his growing team and commented “Roly's appointment, along with the launch of the 100% new Let's Stay websites, are yet more milestones on the journey of our small Derbyshire-based business”.

"Our firm commitment to quality and best practice is the difference that sets us apart, we feel, from our competitors and we won't waiver from that goal even in the harsh economic climate that we find ourselves in today”.

"We're delighted to welcome Roly aboard and look forward to reading his work over the coming weeks and months".
