Miami, Florida (PRWEB) March 15, 2010

Audiences outside of South Florida may not recognize Miami based rapper Darren Lopez, known as "Alfalfa" by his local fan base, but this may soon change with the digital release of his first international Pop/Hip-Hop single, "Rise n Grind" from Mr. Lopez's self released album, "The Young Candidate", which is already available worldwide via i-Tunes and Amazon.com by Lean Team Publishing (ASCAP). The single will be serviced to radio stations using The CMJ Network services by mid March of 2010. Darren Lopez aka "Alfalfa" and other local Miami Rappers chose this method of radio delivery in an attempt to avoid the lack of local radio support and dreaded payola related issues that often enter the picture when new artists petition radio program directors for airplay.

Representatives from Miami radio promotions company DaOne Radio have been pursuing local radio support for Alfalfa and other local artists in Miami, Florida since 2006. In October 2007 BET /Viacom Hip-Hop writer and producer P. Frank Williams along with several American Hip-Hop journalists graciously accepted an invitation to a private performance where Alfalfa performed at a local Miami, Florida talent showcase. After watching Alfalfa's performance for the first time, Mr. Williams described Alfalfa as, 'too hood for today's rap music business.' The irony of P. Frank Williams statement underlies an age old problem that many aspiring artists like Alfalfa in Miami face when presenting their work to music industry executives and A&R's alike.

Alfalfa's music is indeed undeniably and un-apologetically "Hood" in every sense of the word although his talent for writing has already thrilled millions of R&B music lovers by way of his co-writing but un-credited contribution to the 2005 Billboard Magazine #12 hit single, "Your Body", by Atlantic Records R&B group Pretty Ricky, who also launched their careers from Miami, Florida. Independent artists like Mr. Lopez need more honest and practical direction from the music industry and DaOne Radio.com is one organization that has been doing its part to provide that direction for Miami's local talent for over 5 years.

Darren "Alfalfa" Lopez is part of a noticeable growing coalition of Miami rappers who are taking action by using their music and current technology to challenge what they feel is an industry organized lockout against their brand of music because they are not part of the "old school" music industry network that continues to exist in Miami, Florida.

Given the amount Grammy and Oscar nominated entertainers who made Miami and Miami Beach their playground in recent years and the number of International music and sports events held in Dade County each year, South Florida seems to be turning into the next Rap music capital of the world and these frustrated local entertainers with the help of DaOne Radio.com are taking advantage of new technologies offered by companies like The CMJ Network, The Nielsen Company and others in order to lead a peaceful but powerful music revolution.

DaOne Radio is proud to play a role in announcing this movement and is joined in part by internet radio station associates, http://www.dadecountyradio.com, http://www.thestreetsfm.com and http://www.dastreetz305.com. Veteran broadcaster Leo G., creator of XM Satellite radio show 66 RAW recently relocated to Miami and pledged to do his part in bringing more local music to his current radio programming. Miami's longest running talent showcase, "The Miami Pipeline" continues to take an active role in training and developing local talent. Big Mo Promotions and famed BET "Comic View" stand-up Comedian, "Larry Dogg" has played an integral role in helping unsigned talent get recognition. Recently, California based rapper 40Glocc of Zoo Life Entertainment and independently owned Miami based publishing companies Big 305 Stacks ENT (ASCAP) and Citanif Publishing (BMI) have played a role in growing the legal aspect of Miami's independent music movement.

Other Miami based Rap artist who started their own publishing companies this year and in 2009 include Auder Limits Entertainment, LLC (SESAC), Puerto Rican Publishing (ASCAP) and The Streets Ent., LLC.

Although Miami's rap music community has expressed that they do not want any one leader of their coalition to define their movement DaOne Radio and Daren "Alfalfa" Lopez are obviously leading the way for Rappers with limited marketing budgets and unlimited talents.
