The bus is a real eye-catcher and will make the streets of Düsseldorf even more vibrant. Our city tours are more popular than ever, and easy HopOn HopOff tours make our attractions more accessible to more people – and all this at prices for any group and family budget.
Düsseldorf, Germany (Vocus) March 11, 2010
The city is becoming a tourism magnet for visitors from all over the world, and with total increases in guided tour sales up 8 percent, adding a new tour bus for HopOn HopOff tours was a natural next step. Starting on March 17, 2010, the bus – open air on warm days and sheltered by a roof deck during cold weather – will operate daily and connect the city’s major attractions.
The city tour includes 8 stops, among them the world-renowned shopping boulevard Königsallee, Historic Old Town and Rhine Tower, MediaHarbour, House of Japanese Culture and Buddhist Temple, Rhine River promenade, Aquazoo, and Castle Jägerhof. Visitors are invited to leave the bus at any stop to explore and then continue the tour on one of the following tours.
A new high-tech foreign language guidance system provides tour narrations by expert tour guides in nine languages on every tour (Chinese, Dutch, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, Polish). Visitors choose the language from their seat, and a GDS operated system synchronizes the narration via headphones with the real-time tour course. In addition, the modern bus is equipped for special needs travelers and provides easy wheelchair access.
Says Dr. Eva-Maria Illigen-Günther, Director of Düsseldorf Tourism Board: “The bus is a real eye-catcher and will make the streets of Düsseldorf even more vibrant. Our city tours are more popular than ever, and easy HopOn HopOff tours make our attractions more accessible to more people – and all this at prices for any group and family budget.”
One ticket for the 90 minute tour is only 15 Euros and admits one adult and two children up to 14 years of age. Any additional child rides for only 5 Euros. The tickets can be combined with harbor boat tours at an additional charge, and discounts are offered for holders of the Düsseldorf Welcome Card.
