Ruiz Foods Recalls 1 Tornados Flavor

Ruiz Foods, Inc. recalls one flavor of retail Tornados representing only seven one-hundredths of one percent of the products manufactured by the company.

Ruiz Foods, Inc. has recalled one flavor of retail Tornados because of concerns about potential salmonella exposure. To date, no salmonella-related illnesses have been reported in conjunction to the possibly contaminated Tornados flavor.

The recall only affects the retail 3-count Ranchero Beef & Cheese flavor of Tornados. This flavor recall represents only seven one-hundredths of one percent of the products manufactured by Ruiz Foods. Each package of Ranchero Beef & Cheese Tornados provides heating instructions that would eliminate risk potential.

Ruiz Foods is the latest company to recall a product with flavor-enhancing hydrolyzed vegetable protein made by Las Vegas-based Basic Food Flavors Inc.

PRODUCT REFUND/REPLACEMENT
If you have any of the recalled Ranchero Beef & Cheese Tornados, you may receive either a replacement coupon or a refund of the purchase price. Ruiz Foods, Inc. requests that you throw away your affected products and call the Consumer Line toll-free at 1-800-772-6474 or 1-800-SPANISH. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. US PST.
